I am a hair band lover at heart and this pick is crisp and accurate when I am shredding. It has a bright resonance that makes my notes ring. When I am not shredding, I like playing the blues. Slash is a big influence and this pick is not as thick as I thought and I am glad. It is rigid and I hit the string that I want to hit.
I love this pick,it glides across the strings like silk.I've been using stone picks ever since I bought it.
I love the 5mm pick. It's my favorite. It sounds great across the strings. I can play faster because its so smooth on the strings.
I love these picks! I've been searching for a source for stone picks, having used them for years in the past, and have finally found a supplier with a reasonable price and great product. Thank you for your excellent picks and service!
I have a few stone guitar picks and after a month of playing with this one, I have to say it is by far the best stone pick I've ever purchased, seen and/or played. The quality of the craftsmanship is world class. The bevel is incredible and the tip is perfectly pointed, something that no other maker of stone picks seems to know how to do.
The tone from this is awesome. It's not as bright as my other stone picks, but bright enough to cut through the mix, and what I really love about this pick is the incredible harmonic over tones.
Shipping was surprisingly fast, and the packaging was by far the best I've seen. Mine even came with a clear plastic SIM holder, which is the perfect size for these picks.
I highly recommend purchasing a guitar pick from this company. You will be very impressed, and you will want to purchase more in the future.
This pick gives a beautifully soft and slightly enduring sound. It''s wonderful for jazz and blues, and because it''s small and transparent it becomes invisible to onlookers. It particularly brings out the richness of the bass strings, and adds brightness to the top three strings. When I used it on old strings that were ready to be replaced, it gave a vibrant tone that made them sound much newer than when I used plastic or delrin picks. 5 stars.
Brilliantly conceived, and flawlessly crafted. Perfectly polished with no abrasiveness at all, which is crucial for optimal attack and release technique. You''ll play better without practicing harder. Quite remarkable!
I bought three of thes Agate Jazz picks. All three are 1.1mm thickness, which is why I got them. This is the perfect thickness IMO. The sound of stone on steel strings just shimmers. It''s an organic tone that plastic and nylon don''t have. The Jazz shape is a little small but great for pitch harmonics. I''m watching the Stone Guitar Picks Shop for any Triplet picks that are 1.1 mm. I''ve got one of those and it is all-around perfect. If you could let me know if any of these show up, that would be great!
<These picks are simply marvels! Very clean sound (far superior to any other material), pinpoint accurate and articulated attack, yet very smooth and fluid. Not only do these picks give you the instant ability to play better, they make you want to play longer and more intimately. I would say that it is an invaluable necessity for any serious guitarist.
This is a great pick for many styles. I have been playing for nearly 40 years and have never found a pick that felt right; until now. rn Very well made and super responsive; allows you to really dig in to the string or give a gentle brush. Makes sweep picking a super slick. The small size makes it much easier to do hybrid picking or palm the pick. Definitely the right pick for me.
I got my first stone pick about 35 years ago and honestly I think the quality of these are the best I''v seen. The last ones I got came from Japan and they were pretty good but they were too thin for what I like. These are truly a work of art.I just have never been able to figure out why there arent more people useing such.Thanks. Jerry
I already had a small pick I liked when I bought this one, which immediately surpassed it in use. If I had a friend who was a good mandolin player, I''d definitely run this by them. Might have to give it to them.
Great pick! You truly can''t get an idea of the depth of the color patterns just by the pictures. Bevel edge is great and pick sounds and plays awesome! Great customer service too!
Why buy a stone pick? Well tone, you can''t get the beautiful tone from a plastic pick that you get from a stone pick, Speed, If you use a slightly heavier string set like me, you can get tremendus speed, try it you''ll see. A stone pick never wears out, my first stone pick lasted me 22 years until I lost it. And the price $9.95 here at "The Stone Guitar Pick Shop" is a deal, my last stone pick bought in a store cost $20rnI don''t need to say anything special about this particular pick GP0711, because all the picks at Stone Guitar are well crafted, so it''s just a matter of you finding the size and thickness your comfortable with.
As a Jazz (fusion) guitarist I''ve played with many types of picks,I was very anxious to try this GP0959 Brazilian Agate pick and I must say ,great accuracy in attack , wonderful tone, balanced construction. Also has to be mentioned the professionalism in carving, polishing and aesthetic feel. I''ll be spreading the news cause you guys put an awful lot of love and passion in your work, great product.
I''m really getting the hang of this pick,at first I thought it was rather thick (4.0) but the tone I get with it is incredible, so I thought I''d stick to it for a while and see how the feel develops. I love the little carvings on both sides of the pick which certainly add in keeping a firm grip while playing, this is very well thought over and very functional. Again great material and polishing work. I''ll never return to plastic picks again, this is my tone and feel. A real killer pick which produces great tone, give it a chance , you''ll see and hear.
This is an update - I have people ask me why I use stone picks (instead of plastic, vinyl, wood, etc). I still use wood picks for some of my acoustic playing, but if I want my acoustic to come through the mix it''s stone all the way. I also used to break strings all the time as I play fairly aggressively. I almost never break strings anymore . This pick (and my other "Stones") glide across the stings on acoustic or electric and I do not need to strike the strings as hard to produce volume.
Wow! That was my first reaction to this pick! This is my first stone pick and it looks, sounds, and feels amazing! You don''t need to worry about any edges catching the strings because the pick is very solid and smooth on all the edges. I play on a 7 string drop tuned to F and it really makes the low end sound extremely clear. The only thing I can think of that might be a turn off to some players would be that on the high strings you can hear more of the picking sound against the strings. It''s not as muted as with more traditional picks but to me it adds some flair and uniqueness to my playing. High quality product that will make your guitar resonate more and sound cleaner. A must have for anyone remotely interested in trying new products. I''d give it ten stars if I could!
This thing is far beyond all my expectations! I''d never used a stone pick before purchasing this one, and the picks I use get a "hearty pounding" and wear off quite quickly. This agate beauty not only takes heavy licking without as much as a scratch, but also sticks to the fingers surprisingly well.rnThe sound of strings plucked with stone may seem a bit off on the "muffled" side, but I''ve found it a motivation to perfect my articulation further, rather than a drawback.rnI''ve been relying on a granite fretboard on a seven-string for over a year now for stability and haven''t been let down; now I have an complement of an agate pick for smoothness, longevity, and sheer beauty.rnCompared to American prices (haven''t found a European producer so far) these are for free! I received the pick in about a week after the order was processed and it came all neatly packed''n''wrapped.rnI''m definitely coming back for more!rnCheers from Poland!
First of all, this is the first time I''ve used a stone guitar pick and let me tell you, this is really amazing! I''ve always felt a disconnect between myself and the guitar when using a plastic pick. Playing with this though, the whole feel is so comfortable and organic. The feel of this pick is just like velvet and the strings chime like bells. Also prompt customer service when I e-mailed with a question and my pick came in a little plastic case so I don''t lose it. Extremely pleased all around!
I am a fusion, progressive rock guitar player dependent upon the least friction possible, that only a stone pick can provide. A hard plastic pick can come close, but there is nothing like stone pick for this purpose! I have purchased many picks from various vendors that had ridges in the side of the pick that defeats the entire purpose, and thankfully this is a perfect pick. I am so happy to report that this is one of the best picks that I have ever had the pleasure to have played with. This is a make or break factor in shredding type guitar playing and this pick allows me to play with the utmost efficiency!! I would recommend this type of pick to anyone who is looking for the right pick to take their playing to the highest level.
